Top-ranked UConn runs home winning streak to 26

No. 8 Stanford bounces back to beat New Mexico.

Hartford, Conn. -- Maya Moore scored 21 points and top-ranked Connecticut rolled over San Diego State 99-55 on Thursday night, extending the Huskies' home winning streak to 26 games.

Moore, one of five Huskies to reach double figures, had 17 points at halftime. The sophomore also had nine rebounds and six assists while playing just 25 minutes.

Tina Charles had 17 points for UConn (2-0), which has now won 89 straight games over unranked opponents.

- No. 8 Stanford 84, New Mexico 46: At Stanford, Calif., Jillian Harmon led five players in double figures with 13 points, and No. 8 Stanford responded from a tough loss at Baylor with a rout of New Mexico.

Freshman Nnemkadi Ogwumike came off the bench to add 11 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots for the Cardinal, who dropped six spots in this week's rankings from No. 2 after their 81-65 defeat Sunday at Baylor.

- No. 11 Maryland 90, James Madison 76: At College Park, Md., Kristi Toliver had 27 points and 10 assists, Lynetta Kizer scored 18 points, and Maryland used an 18-3 second-half run to pull away from James Madison.

It was the 23rd straight home win for the Terrapins (2-1), who were locked in a tie game with 11:46 left before Toliver made three baskets and a pair of three throws in the pivotal surge.

- No. 21 Purdue 70, Portland 50: At West Lafayette, Ind., FahKara Malone made four of six 3-pointers in scoring 17 points and Purdue beat Portland.

- No. 22 Florida St. 70, College of Charleston 57: At Tallahassee, Fla., freshman center Cierra Bravard scored 25 points and Florida State used a late surge for a victory over College of Charleston.

- No. 24 TCU 70, Texas-Arlington 45: At Fort Worth, Texas, Helen Sverrisdottir had 17 points and 12 rebounds to help TCU overcome a terrible start and beat Texas-Arlington.

- No. 12 Texas A&M 59, Michigan 56: At Ann Arbor, Mich., Danielle Gant scored 15 points and Takia Starks added 13 to help Texas A&M hold off Michigan.

- No. 14 Texas 87, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 36: At Austin, Texas, Kathleen Nash had 11 points and 12 rebounds to lead Texas to the victory.
