Who is no longer proud?

George Wheeler may have inferred that he was not proud of singular in his country, but in his earlier letter he said, and I quote, "I am no longer proud of my country." Also, I seriously doubt that Barack Obama shares the ideology of the leaders of Sudan, Zimbabwe or Venezuela. And to Mr. Edward Janosik, your Local Voices column of Nov. 15 was one of the best I have read. I agree with him 100 percent.

Right Democrats clean up

By the time Congress gets through dealing with the fallout from the "financial Pearl Harbor" (to quote Warren Buffett) that has resulted largely from Democrats' support of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and ACORN, they will likely have spent more money than the cost of the Republicans' wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is only fitting that the Dems have to clean up the fallout from the subprime slime mess, as they were the ones who are primarily responsible for it.
