Bookseller reports big drop

Portland, Ore. -- Barnes & Noble Inc. reported a larger-than-expected loss for the third quarter on Thursday. Revenue dipped to $1.12 billion from $1.18 billion.

Business to change name

Glenstone Block Co., a longtime Springfield business that was recently sold, will be renamed Midwest Block & Brick Co. Midwest Block & Brick, a division of Midwest Products Group, recently acquired Glenstone Block, with locations in Springfield, Branson and Camdenton.

Glenstone Block's Camdenton location will merge with Midwest Block & Brick's current facility in Osage Beach. Nattinger Block & Brick of Springfield, a Midwest Products Group company, will change its name to Midwest Block & Brick as well.

Grand opening for Arvest Bank

Arvest Bank's new location at 2403 W. Republic Road will hold a grand opening from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

Arvest representatives will be making donation presentations on behalf of the Walton Family Foundation.

Checks will be presented for $10,000 to the Discovery Center, $5,000 to the Ozark Literacy Council, $7,500 to the Habitat for Humanity and $5,000 to the Ronald McDonald House.
